12th Annual Orange Open - A Juried All-Media Exhibition of Fine Art

Exhibition Dates: August 9 – 23, 2008

Reception: Saturday, August 9, 7:00 – 8:30 pm

Deadline: Tuesday, August 5, 3:00 – 8:00 pm

Eligibility: Competition is open to all artists 18 and over. All entries must be original and must have been executed within the last two years. Class work is not eligible. Categories are: Watercolor & Acrylic, Oil, Pastel & Mixed Media, Three Dimensional, Photography Fine Art, Photography Nature, Photography People.

Entry Fee & Number of Entries: The entry fee is $8 each entry for members of OAA, and $15 for non-members. There is a 7 piece entry maximum and no more than 2 pieces per artist may be selected for the exhibit. You may join OAA at the time you enter your pieces at a discounted rate of $20. That membership will expire December 31, 2008.
One Entry Form for each piece of art must be completed at check in. You may download the form at www.OrangeArtAssociation.com. Additional copies will be available at check in. All parts of the form must be completed, legible and signed.

Delivery of Work: Wednesday, August 6, 9:00 am – 1:00 pm

You will be phoned on Wednesday, August 6, if your work is not selected. It is your responsibility to find out if you are not home to receive the call. There will be a list posted at the hours listed above.

Pick-up of Non-Selected Work: Thursday, August 7, 2:00 – 7:00 pm

Getty Gallery Course: Facing the Ages: Portraiture in Europe from Antiquity to the Baroque
Friday, September 19, 12 - 2 p.m.

Educators and curators address the question, "What is a portrait in the western traditions of European art?" Examining painted and sculpted portraits from antiquity, the Middle Ages, and the Renaissance and Baroque periods, this three-part course explores the Museum's collection and complements the exhibitions Bernini and the Birth of Baroque Portrait Sculpture and Faces of Power and Piety: Medieval Portraiture. Open to 40 participants.

16th California Art Club Exhibition at the Historic Blinn House: Concertos in Color

All California Art Club Associate Artist Members (formerly: Painting and Sculpting Patron Members) are invited to submit artwork for the upcoming exhibition, Concertos in Color, at the historic Women's City Club of Pasadena.

Medium: drawings, paintings and sculpture      
                                                                
Submissions: Send up to four 35mm slides, labeled with artist's name, title of artwork, medium and dimensions, as well as an S.A.S.E. to return materials      
                                                         
Donations: Enclose a $40 check for up to two slides payable to the California Art Club; $20 for each additional slide

Commission: 60% Artist; 40% CAC
